Village Walls

The Village Walls of Monsaraz are well-preserved medieval stone fortifications that surround the historic hilltop village. These walls were built for defense and still define the character and layout of the village today. Walking along the walls offers visitors panoramic views of the Alentejo countryside and Alqueva Lake. They provide a strong sense of history while allowing travelers to experience the village from an elevated perspective.
