Torre de la Calahorra

5
(1)
The Torre de la Calahorra stands proudly at the southern end of Córdoba’s Roman Bridge, guarding the entrance to the city since medieval times. Originally built by the Moors in the 12th century and later expanded by Christian rulers, the tower served as a defensive stronghold protecting the city from invasions. Today, the tower houses the **Museo Vivo de Al-Andalus (Living Museum of Al-Andalus)**, which offers an engaging look into Córdoba’s multicultural past — showcasing the coexistence of Muslim, Christian, and Jewish cultures that once defined the city. Its rooftop provides one of the best panoramic views of the Mosque–Cathedral and the old town skyline.
