Suizenji Jojuen Garden is one of Kumamoto’s most beautiful traditional Japanese landscape gardens, carefully designed in the 17th century by the Hosokawa clan. The garden represents the historic Tokaido Road in miniature, with rolling hills, clear ponds, manicured greenery, and a symbolic Mt. Fuji-shaped hill. It is a peaceful retreat offering classic Japanese aesthetics and a perfect escape from the city.
