Samadhi Buddha Statue

The Samadhi Buddha Statue, located inside the Abhayagiri Monastery Complex in Anuradhapura, is one of Sri Lanka’s most admired masterpieces of ancient art. Carved from a single block of granite, this statue portrays the Buddha in deep meditation (Samadhi Mudra) — a perfect expression of calmness and enlightenment. Dating back to the 4th century AD, the statue stands 7 feet tall and is considered one of the most graceful depictions of the Buddha ever created.
