Reinebringen Viewpoint

Reinebringen Viewpoint is one of the most famous viewpoints in the Lofoten Islands. From the top, visitors can see Reine village, Reinefjord, and surrounding mountain peaks. The viewpoint is reached by a well-maintained stone stair trail that climbs steeply above the village. The effort is rewarded with wide panoramic views. For travelers, Reinebringen offers one of the most memorable mountain viewpoints in Norway.

How to Get There

  • 🅿️ Park at “Ytre Havn” in Reine ⚓ for the most reliable spots (approx. 40 NOK/hr) 🏁
  • 🚶 Follow the “Old Road” pedestrian path 🛤️ on the outside of the Ramsvik Tunnel to find the trailhead 🚩
  • 🚌 Use the Nordland Line 300 bus 🚏 and get off at the Reine intersection 🏁

Travel Tips

  • 🥾 Wear hiking boots with deep lugs 👣—the dirt ridge at the top is very slippery when wet 🌧️
  • 💧 Bring your own water 🥤—there are no streams or taps once you start the climb 🏔️
  • 🧥 Pack a windproof layer 🌬️ as the ridge is exposed and significantly colder than the village 🌡️
  • 🚷 Stay on the stairs 🏗️ to prevent rockfalls that could hit hikers below you ⚠️

  • 7:00 AM – 🏁 Arrive at the Reine Harbor parking ⚓ and begin the walk to the trailhead 🚶
  • 7:30 AM – 🧗 Begin the ascent 🏗️—pace yourself and use the stone benches for short rests 🧘
  • 8:30 AM – 🔭 Reach the summit ridge 📸 and explore the different viewpoints along the crest ⛰️
  • 9:30 AM – 👣 Start the descent 🧗—take care of your knees and allow ascending hikers to pass 🏁
