Rausu, located on the eastern side of the Shiretoko Peninsula in Hokkaido, is a charming fishing town famous for its winter drift ice, whale watching, and untouched coastal landscapes. As part of the Shiretoko UNESCO World Heritage region, Rausu offers visitors some of the best wildlife experiences in Japan, including orcas, sperm whales, sea eagles, and winter drift ice cruises.
