Deep in Bulathsinhala lies the Pahiyangala Cave, also known as Fa-Hien Lena, one of the largest natural rock caves in Asia. Archaeologists discovered ancient human remains here dating back more than 37,000 years, making it a site of great historical and scientific importance. The cave offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside — and a feeling of stepping back in time to Sri Lanka’s prehistoric past.

  • 🚂 By Train: Kalutara South is the nearest major station, followed by a one-hour road trip.
