The Mezquita del Cristo de la Luz is one of Toledo’s oldest and most captivating monuments, dating back to the 10th century. Originally constructed as a Moorish mosque known as Bab al-Mardum Mosque, it was later converted into a Christian chapel after the Reconquista in 1085. This small yet beautifully preserved structure represents the fusion of Islamic and Christian architecture that defines Toledo’s historic charm. Its horseshoe arches, brick patterns, and interior frescoes tell the story of a city where cultures once thrived together.
