Meganebashi (Spectacles Bridge)

Meganebashi, known as the ‘Spectacles Bridge,’ is one of Nagasaki’s most picturesque and historically important landmarks. Built in 1634 by a Chinese monk, the bridge gets its name from the reflection it creates on the Nakashima River, forming a shape that resembles a pair of spectacles. As Japan’s oldest stone arch bridge, it remains a beloved sightseeing spot and a peaceful place for a relaxing riverside walk.
