(0)
Lion Rock is a distinctive volcanic rock formation located between North Piha Beach and South Piha Beach. Rising prominently from the black sand shoreline, it is one of the most recognizable natural landmarks on Auckland’s west coast. The rock is named for its lion-like shape when viewed from certain angles. It plays an important role in dividing Piha into two main beach areas and adds dramatic character to the coastal landscape. For travelers, Lion Rock offers an excellent photo opportunity and a clear visual reference point while exploring Piha Beach and its surroundings
