Kanman-ga-fuchi Abyss is a peaceful riverside gorge created by volcanic activity from Mount Nantai. The area is famous for its row of Jizo statues, known as the ‘Bake Jizo,’ which mysteriously seem to change in number when counted. With flowing river sounds, mossy stones, and dense forest surroundings, it is one of Nikko’s most serene and atmospheric walking locations.
