Perched high in the hills above Ella, the Halpewatte Tea Factory (also called Uva Halpewatte Tea) is one of the largest and most modern tea-processing centers in Sri Lanka’s hill country. Built more than 70 years ago, this working factory offers visitors a rare chance to see how the worldfamous Ceylon Tea is grown, processed, and graded.
