Golden Acre Park is a peaceful landscaped park located to the north of Leeds, featuring lakes, gardens, and woodland paths. It is a popular spot for relaxing walks, family outings, and enjoying nature away from the busy city.

What to See & Do

  • 🦋 Explore Tropical World to see meerkats, monkeys, and butterflies in indoor climates 🐒
  • 🌿 Visit the Specialist Gardens, including the Monet Garden and Alhambra Garden 🏛️
  • 🏰 Find the Castle Folly, a mock ruin built in 1811 that offers a great backdrop for photos 📸

How to Get There

  • 🚌 By Bus: Take the 12 or 2 bus from Vicar Lane or Corn Exchange (approx. 20 mins) 🚌
  • 🚗 By Car: Use postcode LS8 2HH. There are 5 free car parks located around the estate 🅿️
  • 🚉 By Rail: From Leeds Station, the park is a 15-minute taxi or a short bus ride away 🚕

Travel Tips

  • 🎟️ **Tropical World:** Open 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM in winter. Admission is approx. £9.00 for adults 🎫
  • 🥾 **Footwear:** Main paths are paved, but waterproof boots are best for the woodland trails 👟
  • ☕ **Warming Up:** The Lakeside Café is open daily (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM in winter) for hot drinks 🥣
  • 📅 **Note:** Summer 2026 will see the debut of the major Roundhay Festival with global headliners 🎸
