Galatsi Olympic Hall is a multi-purpose indoor arena built for the 2004 Olympic Games. Located in the Galatsi district of Athens, it is now used for concerts, exhibitions, sporting events, and large public gatherings.

What to See & Do

  • 🏗️ Olympic Stadium Architecture: Marvel at the iconic steel and glass roof designed by Santiago Calatrava, an engineering marvel that defines the Athens skyline.
  • 🎸 Concerts & World Tours: Catch legendary acts in 2026, including Metallica (May 9) and Iron Maiden (May 23), as the stadium remains the top choice for massive international tours.
  • 🏛️ The Agora & Wall of Nations: Walk along the arched promenade (The Agora) and see the Wall of Nations, a kinetic sculpture made of moving steel slats 🌬️.
  • 🎾 Olympic Tennis Center: Visit this specialized venue, which hosts smaller-scale concerts and sporting events, such as Foreigner (June 27, 2026).
  • 📸 Night Photography: The illuminated structures at night offer a futuristic backdrop, perfect for architectural photography 🌃.

How to Get There

  • 🚇 By Metro: Take Line 1 (Green Line) or the Suburban Railway (Proastiakos) to Irini or Neratziotissa stations. Both are about a 10-minute walk 🚶 from the complex.
  • 🚍 By Bus: Take Bus E14 from Syntagma Square for a direct route (approx. 30–40 mins). Routes 550 and A7 also stop nearby on Kifisias Avenue.
  • 🚗 By Car: Use the Attiki Odos highway (Exit 11). Note that parking inside OAKA is limited during major events 🅿️; many visitors use the parking at the adjacent The Mall Athens.
  • 🚕 By Taxi: A 15–20 minute ride from the city center costs roughly €12–€15 🏁.

Travel Tips

  • 🗓️ Check the Schedule: Visit oaka.com.gr or local ticket sites (like TicketServices.gr) to check for 2026 events. The stadium sections may be closed to the public if no event is scheduled.
  • 👟 Comfortable Shoes: The complex is vast (250 acres). You will do a lot of walking on marble and concrete surfaces 👣.
  • 🧴 Sun Protection: During the day, the open plazas have very little shade. Bring water and sunscreen if you’re exploring the architecture ☀️.
  • 🛍️ Combine Your Visit: The complex is right next to The Mall Athens and Golden Hall, making it easy to grab dinner or shop before an evening show.
