The Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues that once guarded the entrance to the mortuary temple of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Standing on Luxor’s West Bank, these iconic monuments have survived for more than 3,000 years. Each statue represents the seated pharaoh facing the Nile River and the rising sun.
