Castel Sismondo, also known as Rocca Malatestiana, is a 15th century fortress built by Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta, the famous lord of Rimini. Designed both as a palace and a defensive stronghold, it showcases the powerful influence of the Malatesta family during the Renaissance. Its sturdy brick walls and towers dominate the city center, symbolizing Rimini’s medieval might and artistic ambition. Today, Castel Sismondo houses cultural events, temporary exhibitions, and part of the Fellini Museum dedicated to the legendary Italian filmmaker.
