The Bahirawakanda Buddha Statue, officially known as the Sri Maha Bodhi Viharaya, is one of Kandy’s most iconic landmarks. This giant seated Buddha overlooks the city from a hilltop, offering breathtaking 360° views of the Kandy valley. It’s especially beautiful during sunrise or sunset when the golden light falls across the temple and surrounding hills.
