The Auob River Valley is one of the most productive wildlife viewing areas within Kgalagadi
Transfrontier Park. Although the river is usually dry, the riverbed supports vegetation that
attracts a wide range of animals.
Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards are frequently seen along the Auob Valley,
often using the riverbed as a natural travel route. Herbivores like springbok and gemsbok are
also common.
For travelers, the Auob River Valley offers excellent game viewing, scenic drives, and classic
