The Roman Bridge of Córdoba, or Puente Romano, is one of the city’s most historic and
picturesque landmarks. Originally built in the 1st century BC during the Roman period, this
ancient bridge spans the Guadalquivir River and connects the old town to the Campo de la
Verdad district. It has been rebuilt several times, with its current form dating mainly from the
Islamic period of the 8th century.
Today, the bridge serves as a pedestrian walkway, offering beautiful views of the
Mosque–Cathedral (La Mezquita) and the Calahorra Tower. As the sun sets, the Roman
Bridge becomes one of the most photogenic spots in Córdoba, where history, architecture, and
atmosphere blend perfectly.
