Ahu Akivi is a unique Moai platform located inland on Easter Island, unlike most Moai sites that face the ocean. The seven restored Moai statues here are believed to represent early Polynesian explorers who arrived on the island. This site offers a quiet and open landscape, allowing visitors to view the statues against wide skies and grassy plains. Ahu Akivi is also known for its precise astronomical alignment with the equinoxes.
