The ancient libraries of Banteay Srei are well-preserved structures located on either side of the temple’s central sanctuary. These buildings once housed sacred texts and ritual objects used by priests during religious ceremonies. Built from pink sandstone, the libraries display fine carvings and balanced proportions similar to the main shrines. Their preservation allows visitors to clearly understand the original function and layout of the temple complex. For travelers, the ancient libraries provide valuable insight into the spiritual and educational role of temples in ancient Khmer society.
