Lovrijenac Fortress

Lovrijenac Fortress stands dramatically on a high rocky cliff just outside Dubrovnik’s western city walls. Often called the ‘Gibraltar of Dubrovnik’, this fortress played a key role in defending the city from naval and land-based threats throughout its history. From its elevated position, Lovrijenac Fortress offers some of the most impressive views of the Old Town, the Adriatic Sea, and the surrounding coastline. The fortress is also a popular cultural venue, hosting performances and events during the summer months.
