Rock — locally known as Batalegala — is one of Sri Lanka’s most recognizable natural
landmarks. Its unique flat top, resembling an open Bible, gives the mountain its famous
name. Standing at about 798 meters above sea level, Bible Rock offers panoramic views
of rolling hills, tea estates, and the distant peaks of the central highlands. For nature
lovers, hikers, and photographers, this is one of the best off-the-beaten-path adventures in
central Sri Lanka.
