Dunhinda Falls

Dunhinda Falls, located just outside Badulla town, is one of the most spectacular and beloved waterfalls in Sri Lanka. Standing at around 64 meters (210 feet) high, this mighty waterfall gets its name from the Sinhala word “Dunhinda”, meaning smoky spray — a reference to the misty cloud that rises at its base.
Surrounded by thick forest and mountain slopes, Dunhinda is not just a natural wonder but also a peaceful retreat for travelers who want to connect with nature and enjoy the soothing sound of falling water.
