The Kaludiya Pokuna, meaning “Black Water Pond”, is a peaceful ancient monastery site located near Mihintale, about 15 km from Anuradhapura. Nestled deep within the forest, this hidden gem combines nature, history, and spirituality — offering visitors a rare sense of calm and seclusion.
Built around the 9th century AD, the site features stone ruins, meditation platforms, and a beautiful pond surrounded by lush greenery.
