The Sanda Hiru Seya, meaning “Stupa of the Moonlight,” is one of Sri Lanka’s newest and most
magnificent stupas, located in the Sacred City of Anuradhapura.
Built as a tribute to the national heroes who dedicated their lives for peace and unity, this modern
masterpiece blends ancient architectural design with contemporary elegance.
Standing at nearly 85 meters tall, Sanda Hiru Seya is among the largest stupas in the country,
symbolizing hope, harmony, and gratitude.
At night, the stupa glows under floodlights, creating a serene and inspiring atmosphere visible
from miles away.
It’s not only a sacred Buddhist monument but also a proud emblem of Sri Lanka’s enduring spirit.
