The Hospital de Tavera, also known as the Hospital de San Juan Bautista, is one of
Toledo’s greatest Renaissance monuments. Built in the 16th century by Cardinal Tavera, it
served as both a hospital and a pantheon for the Tavera family. The building is known for
its marble courtyard, art collections, and the tomb of Cardinal Tavera sculpted by Alonso
Berruguete.
