Todai-ji Temple, located in the ancient city of Nara, is one of Japan’s most important Buddhist temples. Established in 752 AD, it houses the world-famous Great Buddha (Daibutsu), one of the largest bronze Buddha statues. The temple is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site: Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara.
