Wasgamuwa National Park, bordering Matale and Polonnaruwa, is one of Sri Lanka’s most natural and less-crowded wildlife reserves. It’s home to elephants, peacocks, deer, monkeys, and even leopards — all thriving in lush grasslands and riverbanks.
