Arboretum Nyaru Menteng, located just outside Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, is a protected
forest area known for its orangutan rehabilitation center and diverse tropical ecosystem. This site is
both an educational and eco-tourism destination, offering visitors a chance to experience
Kalimantan’s rich flora, fauna, and conservation efforts. It is one of the most important conservation
projects for orangutans in Borneo, operated in collaboration with the Borneo Orangutan Survival
Foundation (BOSF).
