The Hellfire Pass Memorial, located in Kanchanaburi, Thailand, is one of the most poignant historical sites in Asia. It commemorates the thousands of Allied prisoners of war and Asian laborers who suffered and died during the construction of the Thailand–Burma Railway under Japanese occupation in World War II.
