Santa Maria della Salute

Santa Maria della Salute, often simply called “La Salute,” is one of Venice’s most magnificent churches and a masterpiece of Baroque architecture. Built in the 17th century as a symbol of gratitude for deliverance from the plague, this grand basilica stands proudly at the entrance of the Grand Canal.
