Palazzo dei Normanni, also known as the Norman Palace, is one of the oldest royal residences in Europe and a remarkable example of Sicily’s rich cultural blend. Originally built in the 9th century by Arab emirs and later expanded by Norman kings, this grand palace symbolizes the island’s fusion of Arab, Byzantine, and Norman influences. Today, it serves as the seat of the Sicilian Regional Assembly and houses the world-famous Palatine Chapel.
