The Sierra Nevada Trail in Conguillío National Park is a scenic hiking route that passes through volcanic landscapes and native forests. The trail offers changing views of mountains, lava fields, and araucaria trees. This route is suitable for visitors looking for a moderate outdoor experience. Along the way, hikers can stop to observe nature and enjoy the quiet environment. For travelers, the Sierra Nevada Trail provides a rewarding way to explore the park on foot.

How to Get There

Travel Tips

  • 🥾 Wear proper hiking shoes: Sturdy boots are essential for the sections of loose volcanic rock and exposed roots 👟
  • 💧 Carry water and snacks: Bring at least 1.5L of water per person, as there are no refill points on the trail 🥪
  • 🦟 Beware of “Tabanos”: In January, large biting flies (tabanos) are common; wear light-colored clothing to deter them 🦟
  • 🛡️ Stay on marked paths: Follow the numbered metal bollards (1 to 15) to ensure you stay on the official route 🪧
  • 🎟️ Pre-book entry: Download your ticket from pasesparques.cl before entering the park, as there is no cell service 📲
